It’s fishing time!!! Ice fishing season has begun at Sportsman’s Lodge!

Today marks our first official day of the ice fishing season. Our day houses at our Sportsman’s Lodge Rainy River location are out and pre-fishing was excellent yesterday! 6+ walleye/sauger keeper size per person where caught. Gold jigs, orange/gold macho minnows and anything with a glo worked well jigging a few inches off bottom with a minnow. We have 9-11 inches of ice in the areas we travel and fish. We use a private groomed trail. If you are looking to go out on your own, check out the Adrian’s road information below.

Ice is building! We have 6-8 inches of ice in the areas we travel and fish. We plan on getting our supplies and staff to the island next week and starting our season Dec 26!

Just looking for ice conditions
Hello! We have 10-13 inches of ice in the areas we travel at our Sportsman’s Lodge location and 10-12 inches of ice in the areas we travel and fish at our Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge location.
This is Jerry, got reservations on Jan 1-5=17, Am handicaped so i possjble need my 12 ton pick up if possable, I have trouble walking,

Hi Jerry, Our houses are on groomed trails so trucks can’t get out to them but the guides would be happy to help you in and out of the fish house and ice vehicles. We look forward to seeing you soon! We have 12-16 inches of ice now.
