Goodbye Wild Weather

Wild weather has been rocking the boats this week. Wind, rain, and cool temperatures came to our region last week and hassled the boaters a bit. The walleyes were still biting, but the weather made it difficult to get to and stay on the “hot spot”.   Good news! It looks like we will be enduring full sun for the holiday week ahead.

Trophy Fish

Lately the best bite has been in 9’-21’ of water just off the West Bar of Lake of the Woods. Hammered gold spinners with leeches, crawlers, and minnows have all been working the best. Limits of walleyes continue to not be hard to get along with many slot fish (19.5” – 28”). The prime trophy season is soon upon us, many guides have been reporting the large walleyes 28” plus being caught & released lately, one boat this week boasted two nice 28” walleyes in one day.
