Lake of the Woods South Shore Fishing Report 8-12-09

Beautiful Summer Weather is here!
It was an absolute spectacular day on the lake yesterday. Eighty degrees, blue skies, light breeze and plenty of walleyes! More good news, it looks like the weather is here to stay for awhile, it is going to be a perfect weekend to be at the lake.  It didn’t seem to matter if you were bait fishing or trolling with shad raps, the limits have been plentiful the past week. The proof is in the pictures!

Your best bet to finding some nice fish is to travel north about 25 miles from the lodge anchoring around the east bar of Garden Island or around Little Oak Island, a hammered gold spinner or a brightly colored jig tipped with a minnow will do. If you would like to find some trophy fish and throw a few shads your best bet is around the west bar of Garden Island. The south shore has slowed so you are better off going north and enjoy a full day trip.

100% Walleye Limit Guarantee!
Our guarantee continues! We guarantee if you take a trip for a minimum of two days on one of our charter boats this summer that you will leave with your limit of walleyes! (Fish eaten during your stay is counted towards your limit)
