7-1-09 Lake of the Woods Fishing Report by Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge 800-772-8411

Windy weather

The past week posed some challenges for the anglers this week. Late Friday started the wild weather that led on thru Monday. It made fishing a little tough, but low and behold the warm weather, mild wind, and lots of sun are back and so are they walleyes! Check out this 6lb fish caught this week! Nice fish Joe!

Nice limits and Yummy Shore Lunches!

Anglers have been using hammered gold spinners or worm harnesses and gold, pink or orange jigs lately tipped with mainly leeches and worms. Minnows are still being used to change up the action but leeches and worms have been favored recently.   The reports of a nice limit walleyes continue to come in and compliments of the popular “Authentic Walleye Shore lunch” have been the main “dock talk” lately. Book a day of fishing with one of our professional guides and enjoy your morning catch over a wood fire fried to perfection all while taking in the beautiful views of Lake of the Woods.
