Northwest Angle of Minnesota to host the Relay for Life, “Island Style”
Relay for Life planned by Patti Swanson and many local volunteers at the lake event planned for Aug 8, 2009. This event will take place up on the Northwest Angle, located on the very top of Minnesota along side the Canadian Border.
Instead of the traditional relay for life walk or run, many island teams are pulling together to raise money for this event and will unite to light luminaries and put them at the end of each team’s dock the evening of Aug 8. It will truly be a sight! Every dollar raised is a step closer to finding the cure to cancer!
Luminaries are being sold for $10 in honor of a survivor or in memory of someone that was close to you that fought the battle with cancer.If you would like to donate, click here. Sportsman’s Oak Island Lodge’s team this year is the Bobbie’s Bay Bobber’s. Aerial photos will be taken and posted on the Sportsman’s website shortly after the event.
